Highland Medical Aesthetics was started in November 2022 by Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, Sara Courtney who combined her complementary medical background in emergency medicine and plastic into her love of aesthetic medicine.
We offer an array of non-invasive treatments including Botox, Dermal Filler, Hydrafacial, Morpheus8, and more.
In addition, we offer skin care treatments such as dermaplaning, facials, microneedling (SkinPen), chemical peels and platelet-rich plasma treatments for skin regeneration. We offer ZO Skin Health for daily, medical grade skincare.

Founder/Nurse Practitioner
Sara is a multi-state, dual-board certified nurse practitioner with formal, hands-on training in basic and advanced toxin and dermal filler procedures, skin care and laser therapy. She received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Southern Miss, Bachelor’s in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women, and her doctorate in nursing practice (DNP) from Samford University in Birmingham, AL. Her medical background is diverse, including plastic surgery, emergency medicine, critical care and urgent care. Sara serves in the Air National Guard as a flight nurse, enhancing her assessment skills and problem-solving in difficult situations. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Kayla is proud to call Central Mississippi home. After moving to Virginia in 2016, she completed an advanced Master Aesthetician program while starting her family before returning to Mississippi in 2024 to continue her aesthetics career at Highland Medical Aesthetics in Flowood.
Kayla’s passion for skincare runs deeper than beauty alone. After watching her grandfather battle skin cancer from years of sun damage, she became determined to learn how to help people better understand, protect, and care for their skin. That experience ultimately led her to pursue aesthetics and dedicate her career to helping clients feel confident in their own skin.
Kayla graduated from the Mississippi Institute of Aesthetics in Clinton, Mississippi in 2014 and later expanded her education through the Institute of Advanced Medical Aesthetics in Ashland, Virginia, where she completed her Master Aesthetician training. She is certified in ZO Skin Health, Colorescience, and SkinPen microneedling, and is passionate about building personalized treatment plans that deliver long-term results.
Her treatment philosophy is simple: nurture, invest in, and take care of your skin. Kayla believes skin health is a reflection of consistency and care, and she loves guiding clients through customized plans that combine professional treatments with effective home care routines.
Kayla especially enjoys performing SkinPen microneedling treatments and designing long-term skincare strategies to address concerns like texture, aging, and overall skin health. Outside of the clinic, Kayla enjoys music, dancing, crocheting, and spending time with her daughter, Kleo. She’s also a proud pet mom to Ali the cat, Mac and Chilli the dogs, and a few fish. When she’s not with family, you’ll likely find her watching Bravo TV or listening to podcasts like Morbid or The Skintrovert Podcast.

Originally from West Monroe, Louisiana, Jade moved to Madison, Mississippi 10 years ago and quickly found her place in the world of skincare. She graduated from the Mississippi Institute of Cosmetology and Aesthetics in January of 2023 and joined the Highland Medical Aesthetics team in July of 2024, where she brings both clinical expertise and creative vision to the practice as an Aesthetician and Highland’s Marketing Director.
Jade specializes in results-driven treatments like Hydrafacials, customized chemical peels, rosacea management, advanced skincare consultations, and lash lifts. She is ZO Skin Health Expert and has certifications as an Acne Expert. Jade’s philosophy is simple: healthy skin first—everything else follows. She is passionate about educating clients, creating realistic treatment plans, and helping people feel comfortable and confident throughout their skin journey.
Her favorite products to recommend include Plated INTENSE, SIV Biome Balancing Serum, Colorescience mineral SPF, and the iconic ZO Exfoliating Polish—all staples she loves for building strong, resilient skin.

She’s also a proud pet mom to her two cats and two dogs—Fat Gucci, Suki, Hendrix, and Mellow. Her go-to coffee order? An iced salted blonde latte (extra salted).
